Sporty, chic, and utterly fabulous, this borrowed-from-the-boys style is perfect for light to medium-weight woven fabrics, with a knit rib trim...choose super-drapey sueded silk, rayon challis, charmeuse, or crepe, plus firmer fabrics like chambray, linen, denim or duchesse satin. This one also works beautifully in firm, medium-weight knits like ponte or double knit.
Semi-fitted, unlined, zip front jacket has side panels with in-seam pockets & bust darts. Low scooped neckline & cuffs are finished with knit rib and optional contrast trim. Back has a shaped center back seam; two-piece full length raglan sleeves feature a shoulder dart. Jacket finishes at the hip.
This must-have piece is going to become your favorite casual jacket (you’ll wear it with everything from jeans to a tailored pant, and from a stretchy T-shirt dress to a cocktail worthyLBD) but also consider making it in a softer, blouse-weight fabric, zippered closed over a cami or fitted T for relaxed glamour.
All sizes 6-8-10-12-1-4-16-18-20-22-24-26 will need around 2.5 yards or 228cm of fabric, plus around 1/4 yard/ 45cm each of knit rib and fusible interfacing. You'll also need 1 x 18" or 45cm separating zipper-we'll show you how to shorten it if you need to! If you want to add the optional trim, (braid, ribbon, piping, or even fold over elastic) you'll need around 2.5 yards or 228cm of that too. All fabric amounts are for 60" or 150cm wide fabric. plus
