This gorgeous skirt is designed for firm or slightly drape-y
bottom-weight fabrics like crepe, washed linen, heavy
sueded silk, soft twill, bottom-weight rayon and firm
cottons like denim and chambray.
Unlined, below-knee length A-line skirt has a faced waistline
that sits at the natural waist with an invisible side seam
zipper closure. Skirt has diagonal panels and a faux-wrap
with angled hemline; the underwrap is sealed into the side
seams to avoid the dreaded wrap-skirt falling-open issues!
Hem & wrap edges are finished with a facing.
This chic skirt is perfect if you want a modern, super-flattering
version of color blocking or pattern mixing, but it also works in
solids (add some topstitching!) for a cool take on the classic
A-line skirt. Your new wrap skirt looks best worn with an
understated, cleanly-styled tank, sweater, T or sweatshirt.
For the color blocked version in all sizes you’ll need around
3/4 yard/68cm each of two different fabrics for the upper part &
middle parts, plus an additional 2 yards/182cm of fabric for the bottom part.
For the solid colored version in all sizes you’ll need around
3 ½ yards/320cm fabric.
Both versions also require a scrap of lining, about 4” x 20”/10cmx25cm,
1 x 9” invisible zipper, plus around 1/4 yard/23cm fusible interfacing.
Fabric amounts are for 60”/150cm wide fabric.
