Shopping List

Sizes 6-8-10-12 need around 1 1/4 yards/ 115 cm of fabric; sizes 14-16-18-20 need around 1 1/2 yards/ 137 cm of fabric; sizes 22-24-26 need around 1 3/4 yards/ 160 cm of fabric. All sizes also need around 3/4 yards/ 69 cm of lining; 2 x 3/4”/ 19 mm buttons; 2 x trouser hooks & eyes; and 1 x 7”/18cm zipper. We recommend using a firmer interfacing for the waistband-you’ll need about 1/2 yard/ 45 cm, plus about 1/4 yard/ 23 cm of a lighter or softer interfacing for the hem facings, pocket edges, back vent and fly facings.

All fabric amounts are for 60”/150cm wide fabric

  1. Very cute, but somewhat challenging

Posted by christine on 7th Jul 2011

I fell in love with this pattern after seeing the you tube videos so ordered it. I did make a muslin and determined the need to lengthen it 4" to get to my knees(I am tall and this pattern is short). Everything went wall on my muslin as I did not do a fly, facings etc. Sooo, off to make it in linen. I was so proud of my first zipper fly front! Genius piece of work! Only to find I had put the zip in backwards with the pull facing the wrong direction! So now I am in despair at my mistake and am dreading the ole zipper unpicking chore. But despite all of my errors, this is a well made pattern and the tutorials are a must see as the directions are written for experienced sewers. I do plan to make several of this skirt after I rescue the one in progress. Love your patterns HP!
