The perfect marriage of easy comfort and
relaxed elegance, these super-chic pants
are designed for drape-y light-to-medium
weight woven or knit fabrics ...try a single or
double knit, fluid washed linen, charmeuse, rayon
challis, or a heavy crepe. The waistband requires
a medium-weight knit with at least 20% stretch.
Relaxed-fit straight leg pants sit at the natural waist
with a deep, elasticated fold-over knit waistband.
Pants feature a faux fly detail, deep topstitched
hems, & optional front and/or back patch pockets.
You’ll reach for these go-anywhere pants again &
again; just chose your favorite fabrics and they’ll
keep you cool in the heat, cozy when it’s cold, and
comfy all year round. Fold or scrunch the stretch
waistband, and team these with a tucked-in slim or
a slouchy-fit top or T-shirt for a sporty-chic look, or
keep the waistband unfolded for a sleek and
super-smooth silhouette under an untucked and
fluid blouse, a relaxed T-shirt or a loose sweater.
I needed a pair of dressy but quick pair of pants to make for a 50th wedding anniversary party. The muslin I made of these pants fit perfectly on the first try and the final pants sewed up on one day. What a joy! I’ll be making more of these!
Absolutely love this pattern and these pants. Took some time adjusting fit because I used linen and the pants stretched out way too much. But once that was adjusted for, they are my new favorite pants!! Lots of compliments on them. Thank you, Trudy.
This pattern is SUPER, cute, easy, most comfortable with an excellent fit (cut per your measurements on back of pattern). I've made 2 pair, will made more in the spring.
Recently made these using a soft and somewhat stretchy & relaxed, but 'nice' ponte knit. The pattern sews up very quickly. Love the front pocket design and the smooth tummy profile. Even though I made these in a knit, they still appear stylish if I dress them up. The best part is they fit great and are extremely comfortable.
I put these palazzo pants together in less than 2 hours. They have a great fit through the upper leg and hip - an area I always have difficulty fitting. But I did not have to adjust this pattern for fit at all. The pants drape perfectly down the leg. The instructions are clear, however, I did have a bit of trouble understanding the waistband instructions. Once I sat down and went through them step by step, everything went together easily. Thanks for a great pattern!
I cannot imagine an easier pattern for a very comfortable pair of palazzo pants than this one. Straight down, with and elasticized and stretch knit fabric at the waistline (which can be flipped down for sort of a yoga pant look), these pants slide over all the curvy bits and look terrific with tops that either are tucked in or out. The pattern itself is a great draft - I usually have a lot of issues with hip and crotch areas and this pattern has neither issue for me. I used rayon challis for a summer look; I can see using something like a thin wool or sweater knit for fall and winter here.
