off duty chic, for those days when you have
to look pulled together but you need to be
comfy, choose this fabulous throw-on-&-go dress.
This style is perfect for fluid and drape-y woven
or knit fabrics like a stable double or single jersey,
heavy crepe, lightweight ponte, washed linen, crinkled
cotton gauze, sueded charmeuse or heavy rayon challis.
Semi-fitted, unlined, pull-on dress has a slightly slouchy
but controlled balloon silhouette, with side seam-underarm
panels for a trim bodice and superior fit. Dress features
Dior darts, a jewel neckline and below-elbow-length cut-on
sleeves with a slit; in-seam pockets & raglan shoulder pads
are optional. Dress finishes at mid calf with a narrow hem.
This effortlessly modern dress is one that looks gorgeous
with a flat or low heel, but it also works beautifully with a
chunky wedge of you prefer more height. Depending on
your fabric choices, this is a true year-round style, and it’s
super-simple to dress it up or down, you know how to do it!
Add some fab footwear, a soft oversized bag, your shades,
a billowy scarf & some low-key bijoux...then you’re easily
and beautifully dressed for your day & out of that door...
All sizes 6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26 will need around
2 3/4 yards or 252cm fabric; you’ll also need 1/4 yard/ 45cm
each of fusible interfacing and lining or similar for the pockets.
A pair of small (less than ½” or 1.25cm deep) raglan shoulder
pads are optional.
All fabric amounts are for 60" or 150cm wide fabric.
This is a great simple dress with a nice shape. I added long darts in the back to help shape it more and I made it up in a dense ponte. I think the lure of this dress is to make use of trims and embellishments in your stash, or to use a high end fabric. Very comfortable dress.
This is a great pattern for an anywhere casual dress. Pattern went together great.
