Meet your new wardrobe superstar, an easy-make,
easy-wear, throw-on-&-go T-shirt dress. Choose a
medium weight knit with a little stretch and drape
like a heavier jersey, panne velvet, velour, ponte,
a firm sweater knit, French terry or a double knit.
Unlined, semi-fitted, pull-on dress features a center
front seam and integral tie that can be cinched snug
or loosely knotted at the waist. Dress has a bound
‘V’ neckline; decide between elbow or full-length
T-shirt-style sleeves, and a midi or above-knee
length; dress and sleeves finish with deep hems.
You’ll get year-round mileage from this style with a
simple change of fabric weight & sleeve length; try
it with long sleeves, thick tights and flat knee high
boots in cold weather, or wear the short sleeved
version with flat strappy sandals when it’s warmer.
A gorgeous metallic, beaded, or sparkly knit will
make a f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s party dress too...
Sizes 6-8-10-12-14-16 will need around 3 yards or 274cm fabric;
sizes18-20-22-24-26 will need around 3 ½ yards or 320 cm fabric.
That’s it! No zippers, buttons, snaps; just fabric...
All fabric allowances are for 60” or 150cm wide fabrics.
It took me awhile to get to this pattern because I thought it was just another wrap dress. I should have known better as a longtime fan and customer of Hot Patterns. This pattern is a great wardrobe staple and I will return to it again and again. If you use a heavier weight knit, like I did with a good quality ponte, you will not be disappointed. (I think thinner knits may not be so flattering on me , anyway). This is an easy make and the dress is an easy wear. I wear it with a cardigan to work. I love the v-neck that occurs because of the cross over. It isn't quite a wrap dress but inclines that way. I find this dress is really flattering for my aging figure. The tie is in just the right place. Make this in black and you will have a nice little black dress but I chose a nice print with pelicans on it (I teach kindergarten) and the kids love the design.
