Sometimes. finding that *perfect* dress can be
like chasing unicorns. One that’s easy to make
and simple to wear, perfect for dressing up or
down. Try this one in light to medium-weight
knit fabrics like silk(y) jersey, rayon, modal or
bamboo T-shirting, drape-y interlock, or a fluid
lightweight ponte, double knit or French terry.
Semi-fitted, pull-over midi length dress has a
boat neckline and a center back seam with a
bra-friendly lower back, finished with a narrow
knit band. Dress has a slim A-line silhouette
with optional (but super useful!) side-seam
pockets & a narrow hem; above-elbow length
sleeves finish with a deep hem. Wear your
dress loose, belted or with the optional tie belt.
This chic-simple dress will become a favorite
wardrobe workhorse...make it in your favorite
solid colors, try it in graphic prints, micro polka
dots or lush florals, and definitely make it in a
luxe black silk(y) jersey for the perfect LBD.

That’s it! No zippers, snaps, buttons or elastic...just fabric.
All fabric allowances are for 60” or 150cm wide fabrics.
My go to dresses for work are simple knits which I can change around with jackets or cardigans. I quite literally haunted the mailbox after I ordered this pattern. When it came I cut out my "muslin" using a lightweight French terry which was pretty stretchy. It was a mess.
I have narrow shoulders and no way did the neckline fit,or even stay in place. I just got brave and recut one with the neckline from a plain and simple tee and used light weight ponte. I also made it a size smaller. Love it already. Next time, and there will be one, I will try the original neckline.
